A lab-grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon, same structure, same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale. Only its origin changes, since it is cultured instead of mined — it can therefore never be called natural. This is what makes a gold and diamond letter pendant accessible where natural stone would require a much more modest pavé. Not to be confused with moissanite or cubic zirconia.
925 silver is the entry-level, very white, which oxidizes in the air. 10K gold is the hardest of the four and the most scratch-resistant. 14K gold offers the best balance of strength and purity for daily wear. 18K gold has the deepest color, but it is the softest metal.
