For a diamond pendant, size is the criterion that most changes the overall look. A 1-inch 1 remains discreet under an open collar; a 3-inch 1 becomes the centerpiece of the outfit.

The metal is chosen independently of the size: 10, 14, or 18k gold for a men's diamond pendant meant to last, or solid 925 sterling silver for a more accessible first piece. Regarding finish, a white gold diamond pendant plays the card of cold contrast, while yellow and rose gold warm up the pavé.
The chain is not included, leaving you free to compose the set as you wish. As the bail is integrated into the 1, it directly receives a pendant chain without an intermediate ring. Two rules are enough.
