The X offers a perfect crossing, symmetrical in both directions, and that is decisive: the construction of a letter determines how it catches the light once paved with lab-grown diamonds. Lab-grown diamond is diamond: same carbon, same structure, same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale. Only its origin changes, as it is grown instead of mined — it can therefore never be called natural. This is what makes a gold and diamond letter pendant accessible where the natural stone would require a much more modest pavé. Not to be confused with moissanite or cubic zirconia.
925 silver is the entry-level, very white, which oxidizes in the air. 10K gold is the hardest of the four and the most scratch-resistant. 14K gold offers the best balance of strength and content for daily wear. 18K gold has the deepest color, but it is the softest metal.
Not included, it is what sets the height of the wear: 50 cm near the collarbone, 55 to 60 cm on the sternum, 65 cm and more for a low hang. A 3-inch piece on a thin chain will sag and strain the clasp.
