On a letter D pendant, the size is the factor that most impacts the final look. A one-inch D remains discreet under an open collar; a three-inch D becomes the centerpiece of an outfit.

The metal is chosen independently of the size: a gold letter pendant in 10, 14, or 18 karats, or the 925 sterling silver version for a more accessible silver letter pendant. The white gold, yellow gold, or rose gold finish is then selected.
The chain is not included, leaving you free to compose the set as you wish. Since the bail is integrated into the D, it attaches directly to a pendant chain without an intermediate ring. Two simple rules apply.
The chain must support the pendant without stealing the show:
A 50 cm chain places the pendant below the collarbone, a 55 cm chain at the hollow of the sternum, and a 60 cm chain in the middle of the chest. The larger the pendant, the better it looks lower down. See Emirice chains and Cuban chains.
Alone, as a unique piece. One chain, a D, nothing else: on a plain dark t-shirt, the fire of the natural diamond stands out immediately.
Layered. A short chain carrying the D and a second longer, thinner chain: the offset creates depth without blurring the design.

Use a soft, dry cloth after each wear; occasionally clean in a lukewarm soapy bath, using a soft brush on the back of the setting, then dry completely. Put your jewelry on last, after applying perfume, and remove it before swimming.

Natural diamonds are mined from the earth and then cut. Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, cultivated via CVD or HPHT: they have the same hardness, same fire, a traceable origin, and a gentler price per carat. The 1.5-inch size satisfies the greatest number of people: present enough for a photo, sober enough for daily wear. Upgrade to the 2-inch if you already wear a thick chain. All initials are brought together in the initial letter pendant collection.
