The metal is chosen independently of the size: a gold letter pendant in 10, 14, or 18 karats, or the 925 sterling silver version for a more accessible silver letter pendant. The white, yellow, or rose gold finish is then selected.
The chain is not included, which allows you to compose the set freely. Since the bail is integrated into the F, it accepts a pendant chain directly without an intermediate ring. Two rules are enough.
The chain must support the pendant without stealing the spotlight:

A lab-grown diamond is a real diamond, cultivated via CVD or HPHT: same hardness, same fire, a traceable origin, and a softer price for the same carat weight.
