Remove the chain before swimming, a long shower, or a workout: chlorine and sweat are the only true enemies of plating. Wipe it with a soft, dry cloth after each wear, then store it flat, away from humidity and friction with other jewelry.
A rinse in lukewarm soapy water followed by complete drying is enough to restore its shine. Avoid abrasive products and ultrasonic cleaners.
