A lab-grown diamond is a diamond: same carbon, same structure, same hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale. Only its origin changes, as it is grown instead of mined — therefore, it can never be called natural. This is what makes a gold and diamond letter pendant accessible where a natural stone would impose a much more modest pavé. Not to be confused with moissanite or cubic zirconia.

925 Silver, 10K, 14K, or 18K Gold
925 Silver is the entry level, very white, which oxidizes in air. 10K gold is the hardest of the four and the most scratch-resistant. 14K gold offers the best strength-to-content ratio for daily wear. 18K gold has the deepest color, but it is the softest metal.
And the chain
Not included, it is what determines the wearing height: 50 cm near the collarbone, 55 to 60 cm on the sternum, 65 cm and longer for a low hang. A 3-inch piece on a thin chain will sag and strain the clasp.

Is the chain included?
No, the pendant is sold on its own, with an integrated bail. A letter pendant necklace consists of: the letter and its size first, then a chain whose thickness follows the weight.
Is a letter suitable for both a man and a woman?
Yes: it is one of the few pieces of jewelry where the gender depends on the format, not the design. A men's letter pendant is usually chosen in 2 to 3 inches on a thick chain, a women's initial necklace in 1 to 1.5 inches on a thin chain.
14K gold or 18K gold?
For daily wear, 14K gold handles friction better. The 18-karat gold letter pendant, on the other hand, offers a deeper color and a more flattering density in the hand.
