925 Silver, 10K, 14K, or 18K Gold

925 silver is the entry-level option; it is very white but will oxidize in air. 10K gold is the hardest of the four and the most scratch-resistant. 14K gold offers the best balance of strength and gold content for daily wear. 18K gold has the deepest color but is the softest metal.

And the chain

Not included, it determines where the pendant sits: 50 cm near the collarbone, 55 to 60 cm on the sternum, 65 cm and longer for a low drop. A 3-inch piece on a thin chain will sag and strain the clasp.
