This is the most defining parameter of a custom-made pendant creation, and the one people most often get wrong. A design full of detail needs surface area to remain legible; a simple design works perfectly in a small format. Size reference guide:

Understanding VVS1 Moissanite
Moissanite is not a diamond: it is a distinct silicon carbide stone, renowned for its intense fire—more vivid colorful flashes than those of a diamond, especially visible in direct light. The VVS1 rating refers to a very high level of clarity, with no inclusions visible to the naked eye. On a large moissanite pendant, it is this fire that makes the piece stand out from a distance.

Which chain should I pair it with?
The chain should be chosen at the same time as the size, not after: it determines the height of the design on the chest and its apparent proportion.

Width. Up to 1.5 inches: 2 to 4 mm chain. From 2 to 2.5 inches: 4 to 7 mm. Over 3 inches: 8 mm and above, Cuban style.

Length. 50 cm positions the design below the collarbone, 55 cm at the hollow of the sternum, 60 cm in the middle of the chest, 70 cm over a t-shirt.

Bail. Ensure that the desired chain width fits through the designated bail: this is the most frequently overlooked connection point.

How to wear it
As a standalone piece. A custom design already makes a statement: it doesn't need to be surrounded. A chain, the pendant, and a plain, dark top.

Matching accessories. A silver finish matches steel watches and light-colored jewelry; avoid mixing three different metal tones in the same outfit.
Care
Moissanite is a hard stone, but the cleanliness of the back of the stones is what maintains its fire. Use a soft, dry cloth after each wear; occasionally clean in lukewarm, slightly soapy water with a very soft brush, then dry completely.
